I have modeled two story building that part of it has the second floor taller than the adjacent part by 3'-0". so columns on the grid line between parts will be connected to beams on both sides that are different in elevations. when I modeled that in RAM, the product was ramped roof which is not what I'm looking for. my question is: is there any how to model it without having ramped roof and also without having to model two different levels? because columns on that grid line are moment frame columns and I want them to be in full height and not spliced.
any help will be appreciated!
You always need to model two separate level types, and two stories, when there is a step in the framing, i.e. two beams framing into a single column or wall at different elevations.
