I am using Staad.Pro V8i version 20.07.11.50 with RAM Connection incorporated. For a moment connection design I used before the BCF template, however in this new version there is the following message:
"Unable to assign one or more templates because they were discontinued"
Please advise about this topic. The use of moment connection of 2 W section is very common and important for design.
Several issues related to Ram Connection design is STAAD.pro were addressed in version 20.07.11.82, so the first thing to do is upgrade to that release if possible.
I tested a direct welded connection using that version and AISC 360-05 with AISC 341-05 and 358-05 Seismic Provisions and it was worked as expected. Here are the beam to column flange smart connections we have now:
