I'm glad we have a work around, but this stumped me and others in the office as well. I agree, it doesn't make sense as to why this issue is occurring in the first place. Take care.

The only way I could get it to work was to network all the columns with beams (the column line beams extend to the perimeter walls). Most of these are parallel to the one way deck and therefore of no consequence, but I'm a little stumped as to why it would not work with the "floating columns"

This is a tricky one. I don't see any obvious error in the modeling. You have some of the short beams connecting perimeter columns to the walls even. Still investigating.

Hello Seth,

I am getting the error and have tried adding beams at various locations from the advice given in this forum. I will upload my file "North Town Sheboygan - A - 22048". The problem is with beam 61 on the first floor, although there may be other similar issues as well. Can you please look at the file and let me know how this can be fixed. Thank You.

I am having this issue as well. I have narrowed it down to the L1 framing (L2 and above runs when L1 is removed) however I cannot find the source of the error on that level. I have uploaded my file (20139.00000 - Main Building).

No, deck is modeled as one deck for the entire floor.

Did you model the deck in several patches as indicated on my wiki? Are each of the patches mono-planar?

Not sure if that forum fits exactly. The roof slab should be flat but slopes in several directions. Beams are also sloped when they should not be. I tried the first piece to adjust the graphics with no changes.

Hey Seth, I have come across another issue with that roof slab. The slab appears to sit below the beams and slopes in different directions. Some beams are also sloped but I am not sure of the cause. All story heights are set correctly. I will update my model in the system, same name.

You also need a beam between the south columns along the slab edge (columns 93 and 108). Furthermore, there is a second elevator to deal with similarly.

Your issue is the common case, a floating elevator core.

I have been having this error as well and cannot seem to resolve it. I believe it is a very minor offset with a beam but cannot locate it. I have uploaded my model, the title being titled 4326-0036-00.

I have sent in a model with a similar issue, but have checked the walls and could not find a wall that needs to be split. I do not have any errors when I do a data check. I am receiving the "Advance..." error when I try to design the steel beams. Thank you!

thank you for the response. Now I am having an issue in the Concrete Gravity Analysis. I am receiving an error "Tolerance error at story FIRST FLOOR, coordinate (x,y,z)". I tried to align all the members in that area but am still getting this error. I sent the file to the secure file upload.
