Please refer to the attached model where physical members are formed. You need to select all the members are click on “Auto form Member” icon.

Hi,

I am unable to form auto form member for all members in attached model y???

because it form ly top most 30 members, if i form members manually then it does not design those members..

Plz help me on this issue..

Are you trying to use the Steel Designer module to design members as per EC3? If that is the case, please note that only the old version of EC3 is implemented in the Steel Designer (DD ENV 1993-1-1:1992). The current version of EC3 (EN 1993-1-1:2005) is available in the Batch mode, which can be opened by going to Design -> Steel vertical page. We suggest you to use this mode for the steel design as per EC3.

1. We can also use interactive steel for member design know, so how to form auto form member in steel designer ,

    its not working properly in my model what is the reason???

2.Which one is best for steel member design batch mode steel design or steel designer tab

3.Is it possible to design concrete design (EC2) in Batch mode??? if so Plz guide the code to use...

1. What do you mean by saying it is not working properly?
2. For EC3 the best way to design members would be in the Batch mode.
3. In the most recent STAAD.Pro version EC2 is available in the RC Designer module only.

1. yes, for above model which i posted today as in name as "sample.std"

Click on the Auto Form Member button while being in the Modeling mode and only then switch to the Steel Designer. The physical members should be formed successfully.

but while designing it shows the error msg like below
"Member M1

Error : Error reading section from database . Please check data format for member property.

Hi,

We are able to reproduce the issue with your latest attached .std file and found that some section properties used in your file can not be read by STAAD in Steel Design Mode. So, a Defect:664573 has been logged for the same.

On the other hand, while forming some physical members one more issue found. Some nodes which are supposed to have same Y-coordinate so that a PMEMBER can be formed were having different value. Check the members highlighted in image attached below:

So some nodes say #139 had 7.89998 as Y-coordinate instead of 7.9. This has been corrected and a modified is attached for your reference.
