Hi all,
I used all parameters for deflection such as DFF UNT UNB LY LZ , but output doesn't show the deflection check, also please advise how to find maximum deflection for each load case, if any command is there
Skid Lifting.std
For the deflection checks to be carried out as per the AISC 360 codes, you need to define serviceability ( and strength ) envelopes before you do the design. Please refer to the following wiki for details on how to set up the design
http://communities.bentley.com/products/structural/structural_analysis___design/w/structural_analysis_and_design__wiki/20793.strengthserviceability-check-in-design
In case you need to carry out both strength and deflection checks for the same load, please refer to the following wiki
http://communities.bentley.com/products/structural/structural_analysis___design/w/structural_analysis_and_design__wiki/23987.serviceability-and-strength-check-for-the-same-load-combination
Also while looking into your model, I found that you did not have a CHECK CODE command following your second set of design ( corresponding to PARAMATER 2 ). You may want to add that.
Hi,
Thanks now I did the deflection check for other type and I got the deflection result but it shows fail in header but pass in content. can you clarify why this happens?
* 1 ST W12X40 (AISC SECTIONS) FAIL DEFLECTION 0.046 100 0.00 C 0.00 0.00 472.44|-----------------------------------------------------------------------|| DEFLECTION CHECK: (UNIT: INCH) || || Limit Span/Deflection (DFF) : 240.000 Limit : 1.969 || Span/Deflection : 5.26E+03 Deflection : 0.090 || L/C : 100 LOC : 472 || Ratio : 0.046 (PASS) ||-----------------------------------------------------------------------|In-Place.std
I see consistent results reported and both sections of design report a PASS as seen below.
I think it is your version. Please update the software to the latest version ( 20.07.11.82 ) and it should take care of the issue.
Thanks, what LOC stands for in the result?
