Good day,
I would like to find out how best can the supports for a shear wall be modeled. Considering the footing under a shear wall is continuous, placing fixed footing at the ends of the wall would suggest that the wall is only supported at these point, which in my view is inaccurate. Is it acceptable to model a shear wall supported by multiple fixed footings to simulate a continuous type of fixed foundation?
I have included an image as well as a model to illustrate this concept.

Thanks,

wall example GEN Fixed.zipIn response to your answer No. 1. Some walls meet at their edges, i.e. some walls are perpendicular to each other and as such would share a common node, making them a part of two support systems. The main concern for me is whether this will affect my results or if this is a warning I can ignore. I have included the model as a reference.
1. Sounds like you have some duplicate supports. If you are using the GENERATE command to create continuous supports for the shearwalls, then you do not need to assign any other supports to these walls. 2. You can model the mat foundation using the Plate Mat foundation type in STAAD.Pro.
