This should be check when both column sides are with moment connections with gravity load

RE: BCF - web compression buckling check is missing

I presumed you would use DG 16 for a non-seismic case. For more on the differences see this: communities.bentley.com/.../9614.ram-connection-extended-end-plate-moment-connections-mep
But, as it stands, we only report the compression buckling of the column web for IMF and SMF joints.

RE: BCF - web compression buckling check is missing

Dear Guthrie,

Thank you for the reply.

Still I must ask, what if I don't have seismic, just gravity load on two opposite beams (OMR: equal load;equal spans), and as a result equal fixity moments @ the both left-hand & right hand column side. Compression forces in beam bottom flanges from both column sides produce condition for the beam web buckling effect.

Just to mention, I use RAM connection integrated in STAAD Pro, and I tried with "opposite side connection ", but It didn't help.

In the STAAD interface, the application of the "exists opposite" flag is not working perfectly. You will have to manually check the "exists opposite" flag within the connection pad for your joint. Also make sure the opposite beam size and forces are entered. Finally make sure that you have seismic provisions turned on and hte right frame type select.

There is an existing defect documented to improve this. Defect 589870: Consider opposite beam in two-sided moment connections is not pulling left beam forces.
