Hi guys.
I used wind definition to be used for load case.
The structure is an open structure where shielding factor is considered in the leewards as per section 8.4 of BS CP3.
After I compare manually the value of the load to be distributed for the leeward, I found out that tributary width used was the member to be loaded
rather than the value of tributary width on the windward frames since calculation of Ae is referred always on the windward frames.
Is there anyway to correct the values? or I am wrong.
Thank in advance.
Please see example in attached file.
For wind load generation in STAAD.Pro using the open structure option, the uniform wind load calculated on any member is based on the width of that member resisting the wind. The wind load generation does not consider any shielding effect when it generates the load on members on the leeward side. If you are changing the member size for members on the leeward side, the loading would be modified by the software to adjust to the new section dimension but it would NOT depend on the dimensions of the members on the windward side. To achieve what you are looking for, you would have to adjust the factor.

k sir, which factor we have to adjust?
The factor referred to here is the one within the dialog box that is used to apply the wind loading. The generated wind load is multiplied by the factor. If you refer to the word document attached by Dave Jason Narca, you will see it.
