As per AISC 358; tab 6.1 , max bolt horizontal distance (gage) is for 4E BCF connection is 152mm, while RAM reports 178.8mm which is beam flange width?
My understanding of AISC DG4, that it gives rules for OMF loaded with wind or seismic. Deviation from these provisions are made for IMF & SMF, given in AISC 358-05. So if I use in RAM connection PAD, DG4-seismic provision-OMF, max g should be width (w) of beam flange. If I use IMF or SMF, this value should be as per AISC 358; tab.6.1, which is ming=102mm (in RAM 101.6mm) and maxg=152mm (in RAM 178.8mm).
The maximum gage dimension is limited to the width of the connected beam flange." Furthermore, commentary C6.9 repeats this as the limit. Is your interpretation that the Max Gage = MIN(table 6.1 value, beam flange width)?
