Vertical and roof Truss design

Hi, I really need help.

I am trying to design an open warehouse made of steel truss roof and column. I keep on getting joint instability on one of my support. I don't know if what I did was right in my modelling process. Should I separate the design of the roof truss from the vertical column? Is that possible?

  • Why are you asking a new question on an existing thread? Anyway, did you look at the deflected shape? If you did you would have seen that many members that should be attached at the same node are not. You need to check for duplicate nodes and let the program merge any that are close to each other (say 25mm).

    Once you get this running properly you're going to find out that you members are severely undersized. If someone ask you to stand under this while they load test it, don't!

    How was this geometry generated? Was it from a CAD file? It may be instructive for others to know so they know what to watch out for.
