How does staad treat out of plane forces in the design of shear walls? As I've never seen Staad generate an interaction diagram for the design of these members. Which design methodology does staad employ in its shear wall designs?
The design of shear walls subjected to out of plane bending and compression is carried out as per the Alternate Design of Slender Walls ( Section 14.8 of Chapter 14 of the ACI code). This is mentioned in the technical reference manual section 3.8.2 titled Shear Wall Design.
