How to Apply Load with Eccentricity

You may used a Concentrated Member Load and enter d2 value for the eccentricity.

You may alose use a nodal moment to simulate the moment which is created by the eccentricity of that vertical load.

I was thinking this is only suitable for loads that are actually positioned on top of the beam (though not on the center of beam's flange).
May I ask for your confirmation if STAAD would still consider this in analysis even if d2 is bigger than the half-of-the-beam's flange?

Also, upon trying to put value in d2 (1m), it is also not visible in the model that the load is actually positioned at 1m from the beam.

Yes, STAAD will consider the loading even if d2 is more than half of the flange width. However, this won't be visible in the graphical user interface.

With that, may I ask how am I going to know if the position of the load (say 1m away from the beam) is correctly inputted? From above snapshot, should it be 1m or -1m?

The d2 value is positive in the general direction of the parallel local axis. The eccentricity value can be seen in the loading name in the GUI or in the STAAD Editor.
