There is a RAM connection problem about shear connection.
In beam to column web single plate shear connection, the shear is 234.4KN, no axial force, and connecting element material is Q345B, the weld size 8mm is enough to take the shear force shown in the output data, but there have a structure requirement fails, shown in the below,
is this check necessary? or where is it from?

Most codes have standard tables for verifying the capacity of welded single plates, but in order to use the tabulated values, the welds need to be in a certain range relative to the plate thickness. This insures that the weld is not the weakest link in the connection. In the AISC 360-2005 code, for example, this is noted on page 10-101 where the weld must be 5/8 of the plate thickness or greater.
