I am currently running a seismic analysis and I am struggling to understand the affects this is having on the live loads I've included in my model.
I have included pieces of equipment in my model as forces in the live loadcase and want to know whether the seismic accelerations in vertical and horizontal directions will take into account the defined live loads and apply seismic accelerations? Or is it the case that the live loads will only be used in the static analysis and ignored by the seismic loadcase?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Any load that is included as part of the mass definition for a dynamic load case ( like response spectrum or time history or even a simple frequency calculation ) will be considered. So ensure that you include the loads due to these equipment as part of the mass definition and apply those in all directions.
