Hi,
I have asked this 5-6 years ago on this platform to no avail.I even opened a thicket and was told that the developers are looking at the issue, but now its been ages and i'm still experiencing the same issues on large models?
Please see attached .std file, its a typical model with only one type of plate element and column type. If you open the model you will see many plates with missing property, but these were all previously assigned on the graphic editor. Even if you select plate with missing property and assign all , save the file and reopen it you will still have many plates with missing property?
The above obviously don't happen on smaller models, but for larger model version SS6 is really unstable or unusable.

Just adding a little more clarification on this issue. In moving to the CONNECT Edition and a the 64-bit platform which is used for the analysis engine, the compiler used was updated which addressed the underlying issue. The workaround for this limitation in Microsoft compiler that is used in the V8i builds is to number entities such that there are minimum gaps in the lists being assigned. Hence rather than having the list of 6 entities as 1, 2, 4, 5, 10, 12, but 1,2,3,4,5,6 so that the program can create an arrogated list 1 TO 6 , means that this issue can be avoided. The Renumber tools can be a useful method for achieving that.
This issue is addressed in STAAD.Pro CONNECT Edition (version 21.00.00.57).
Thank you !
The exact build number is not known yet. This will be a new version of STAAD.Pro. To the best of my knowledge, it should be released in a few weeks.
Thank you for your response, but what do you mean by connect edition? Could you be more specific, what build number will this CONNECT Edition have? or are you all together referring to a new product line?
The current version of STAAD, STAAD.Pro V8i SS6, Build 20.07.11.90 dated 30 March 2017, doesn't address the above issue.
