I have tried to make a unique section using the section wizard. I have no problem creating the shape, exporting to STAAD, adding it to a new user table and then assigning. However when I try to run a simple analysis just to see if it will correctly associate and analyze the shape I get 2 errors saying (1) that the file cannot be found - although the .upt file is located in the same folder as the STAAD model, and (2) that the section properties cannot be read - however I calculated them in the section wizard and can open the .upt file with notepad. Why is the file not found or readable?
My input file is as follows:
STAAD SPACE

ENGINEER DATE 23-Aug-17
END JOB INFORMATION

The files are all located in C:\User\nbrooks\STAAD I am not sure why it does not print the entire location name, is that part of the problem?

If you use version 20.07.11.50 or higher, this problem should not be there.
I have version 20.07.11.90, and I have this same exact problem help please.
I assume you have kept the upt file in the same folder as the STAAD.Pro model file. If you have any blank space or any special character (#,?,! etc) in the name of the file, try to get rid of those and change the input command file accordingly. If that still does not help, upload the .upt file and the .std file and we will take a look.
