Staad Foundation Advanced Connect v 8.00.00.00 Save issues

I'm working on mat slab supported only on piles using staad foundation advanced v 8.00.00.00. I'm new to the program so i'm currently working through the nuances of the program (such as the need to remesh when you change a load) and how to get understandable output. However, i'm having a rather difficult time with saving and it keeping several inputs including grid spacing and removed items from the model (such as column foundations that were previously removed. Is there a reason why the grid doesn't save and that foundations that were previously removed continue to come back?

  • Are there any plans to add the ability to save grid definitions? Having to redefine the grid daily when working with a large foundation model over several days is time consuming and annoying.

  • First and foremost, I would like to request you to uninstall the 08.0.00.00 and install the latest STAAD Foundation Advanced version 08.02.00.31. The new version addresses lot of issues that used to exist in earlier versions of the product and also includes significant performance improvements. So we highly recommend all users of SFA to use this version.

Regarding the grids, the data is currently not saved across sessions. In other words if you define a grid, it will be available till you close the model. Once the model is reopened the grid setting will go back to the defaults. You need to go to the Linear Grid Setup ( or Radial Grid Setup as the case may be) and redefine the parameters and click on Generate Grid button to get it back.

When you say “foundations that were previously removed continue to come back” do you mean that jobs that you deleted are still showing up ? Try with the new version and see if you still face the problem. If so, please send us the file and mention which jobs you tried to remove. Also please ensure that the model is in your local drive and not on a network drive.
