Post Processing and shear wall issues

Good day,

I have analyzed the attached file without any errors, however, the post processing mode is no longer available. This is quite strange as I have already accessed post processing using this file and as such I am confused as to why post processing is no longer available after analysis.

My other query is in relation to the shear wall design results, as the shear wall design could not be carried out using one layer of reinforcement but works fine if I command the program to design using two layers. This is also strange as the forces the walls are subject to are small forces and therefore one layer can more than adequate suffice. Could someone provide some guidance relation to these issues.

Thank.

  • The postprocessing mode is inactive as you have the command SET GUI 1 in the file. If you take that command out you would be able to access the postprocessing mode.

Additional observation: The PERFORM ANALYSIS and CHANGE commands after load cases 9 and 10 are redundant and can be taken out.

Regarding shear wall design, the software is failing to find a suitable size/spacing for the vertical reinforcement. I would suggest that you find out a size and spacing that should work and explicitly specify that diameter through using parameters like VMIN, VMAX. Also check if the default clear cover (= 3in) is OK.
