[ERROR] NO LOAD CASE INCLUDED IN THE JOB IS DEFINED AS 'DESIGN LOAD CASE in STAAD Foundation Advanced

Question

I am using Staad foundation advanced to design my piling foundation. However, I got a error message :" [ERROR] NO LOAD CASE INCLUDED IN THE JOB IS DEFINED AS 'DESIGN LOAD CASE'". Please let me know how to solve this issue. Thanks.

This means that none of the load cases that you have included as part of the job is an Ultimate load case or a Primary Load case. You can check on the type of a load by going to the Load and Factors and clicking on any load case. The Load Case type can be set from within the Load Description window below.

Lucas : Check what load cases are included as part of the job. You may have defined an Ultimate Load case but it may not be part of the job.

Sorry I did not notice that you uploaded the file. The issue is that you have specified the loads as point loads in space which is only applicable for mat foundation type jobs. Please add the loads as column reaction loads instead and it should work. Also I noted that the file is .afs which indicates that you may be using a very old version of STAAD Foundation Advanced. Please use the latest STAAD Foundation Advanced Connect Edition ( version 08.03.00.20)

Go to Job Setup > Edit Current Job and ensure that you have load cases under the Selected Load Cases window on the right. After you do that ensure that you click on the Edit Current Job button below the window. You should have both service and ultimate load combinations within the Selected Load Cases window.
