Example for RAM.zip
Dear Concerned,I have attempted to use the following link attached by RAM Concept team to extract tendon Profile into a Tabular Format. However many tendons are missing from the extracted Table. Please find attached the following example and result. I have done extensive testing and it seems the bug is in the significant figures, Tables extracted from RAM-Concept have 4 significant figures, while DXF Files tend to have a significantly larger amount of significant figures these could be the source of error causing the code to mess up some tendons not to be extracted.https://communities.bentley.com/products/ram-staad/w/structural_analysis_and_design__wiki/35950/export-ram-concept-pt-tabular-dataAlso Besides the earlier referenced procedure, is there a way I can export tendon profile in 3D from RAM Concept to a DXF/DWG file, (Maybe from a standard perspective view, if we can export to 3D DXF), it has been requested multiple times since as back as 2010, https://communities.bentley.com/products/ram-staad/f/ram-staad-forum/54875/profile-points-tendons-in-ram-concept.Is there a plan to add this functionality, it would be very useful for Review, clash detection, coordination with other software and/or to produce shop drawings.Thank you,Regards
Hi Carl,
You are correct, the utility was using exact numerical match between the DXF entities which caused some issues when matching skewed tendons. This has been remedied (DXF entities are now considered matched if within 0.1 mm). The updated utility can be downloaded in the same location as the original post.
In regards to your other query for 3D review, clash detection and coordination of PT tendons - these will be implemented in ISM. We will keep you posted in regards to any updates on this Front.
