Hi,
I wanted to know if the staad offshore compatible to staad pro connection edition.
As the staad offshore never been developed for long time and it is still v8i.
Thank you in advanced.
Ian
Yes STAD Offshore should be able to read the .std files generated in STAAD.Pro Connect Edition and the loads generated by it can also be taken into STAAD.Pro CE.
STAAD Offshore is not being developed further as Bentley now offers a more comprehensive offshore structural analysis solution in the form of SACS and we encourage our users to check that out. More details are available in the page below

Hi Sye,
Are you planning to phase out the Staad Offshore? Because obviously if we are not a offshore company and we just need to a wave loading for a certain project we will not need to buy Sacs.
I wish staadpro itself will going to have that wave loadings that build inside the staad pro itself if you are planning of phase out staad offshore.
Thank you.,
Ian : I am not aware of any plans to phase out STAAD Offshore. Just that it is not going to be developed any further.
Let me put an interrupt in this conversation, and say that I have encountered an error with a Japanese beam section in Staad.Pro Connect causing an error in Staad.Offshore. In SS5 and before, the beam section is defined with 3 labels (AAxBBxCC) whereas in Staad.Pro Connect it is now AAxBBxCCxDD, and if we have to correct the definition in Staad.Pro Connect, it will not work with Staad.Offshore.
I've just submitted a Service Request as we are also long time Staad.Pro users using Staad.Offshore and do not wish to move to SACS unless our client approves (and their clients as well).
