hi
I have questions about the eurocode combinations created by the user tool facility within staad.
I am wondering if there is an example to verify what scenarios are considered when combinations are generated.
It seems to be creating far more combinations than I would expect. For example I considered 4 load cases 2x Dead (should be treated from same source), 1x Live Load & 1x Wind Load i.e.
LC1: DL 1 (Dead)
LC2: DL 2 (Dead)
LC3: LL (Live)
LC4: Wind Load (Wind)
Staad created me 32 loading combinations and this includes SLS and ULS combos.
In my opinion I would expect following scenarios:
(LC1 +LC2) +LC3
(LC1 +LC2) +LC3 (leading) +LC4 (accompanying)
(LC1 +LC2) +LC4
(LC1 +LC2) +LC3 (accompanying) +LC4 (leading)
therefore 4 combinations for ULS and SLS each.
Please comment.
Thanks.
Hi Asif,
Please have a look at STAAD Help topic: Home > Modeling > Loading Your Model > Load Combinations > To generate load combinations per Eurocode 0
could not find the above page -where would this be (screenshot)
What Andrej mentioned is for the STAAD.Pro Connect Edition. Seems like you are using the SS6 version. The corresponding topic in SS6 is available at
many thanks I will have a look.
thanks for the info but the technical note does not help me with the query and provides very basic info only.
