I am trying to create or update an ISM repository from a microstran model. As soon as I create 'linked' design members then when I update or create an ISM repository it fails with the following error:
Internal ISM Model creation was unsuccessful
Exception details:System.Exception: Internal ISM Model creation was unsuccessful ---> System.OverflowException: Value was either too large or too small for an Int64. at System.Number.ParseInt64(String value, NumberStyles options, NumberFormatInfo numfmt) at Bentley.Microstran.Ism.Core.IsmModel.ISMHelper.processPhysicalMembers(MsModel msmod, IsmModel ismmod) at Bentley.Microstran.Ism.Core.IsmModel.IsmModel.CreateModelOfAppData(MsModel appData) at Bentley.Microstran.Ism.Core.MsIsmJob.CreateIsm() --- End of inner exception stack trace --- at Bentley.Microstran.Ism.Core.MsIsmJob.CreateIsm() at Bentley.Microstran.Ism.Core.MsIsmJob.DoJob() at Bentley.Microstran.Ism.Interop.UI.LogForm.DoJob()
Using microstran V9.20.1.35 and Structural Synchronizer version 10.02.00.140
Is it possible for microstran to export with linked design members as this is required for the structural design of the members?
Regards,
Haydyn
Hi Haydyn,
Yes its possible, I would require the job file to investigate whats going on here. Please send through your Microstran Job file to Wentao.zhang@bentley.com .

Prior to ISM export, Do the following:
Structure --> Renumber --> Sort/Compact
The above ensures collinear members are numbered consecutively, which is the reason for the original exception.
