i need to design a simple structure consisting of steel truss supported over a RCC columns with tie beams connected each columns. can i model both steel and RCC in a same model? How to do the analysis for both? anyone can explain me the step by step procedure to do the analysis?
Certainly. With most any of our structural software this can be done. Just model what you described above, define the loading and load combinations and perform the design. For STAAD.pro you can perform code checks using different codes on different members. You'll find step by step instructions for most of this under help - contents - application examples.
You may get some idea from the attached wiki.

hi,
I gone thru the answers. and i read the article about direct analysis method also. it refers the code AISC 360-05. I have to do the analysis and design as per IS code. can i use the method to IS code?
