Why in the bolt Shear check the reduction factor Ksc is considered in the check which is only used in case of "Combined Tension and Shear in Bearing-Type Connections" and these bolts are only subject to SHEAR only?
Appreciate your feedback.
What design code are you using? It's helpful to include the .cnx or .rcnx file with such questions. You can include them in your post as a .zip file or upload to our site using Secure File Upload
I am using AISC-10 LRFD design code. I have uploaded a a model .rcnx on Secure File Upload as per your request.
I see. So the program is using the Tension in the brace, a force associated with shear in the bolts, rather than the tension in the bolts, a force normal to the bolt shear, when checking J3-5 and hence reducing the bolt shear capacity. I'll double check with our developers but that would appear to be an incorrect application of "tension" in this case.
