Dear all,
I did the dynamic simulation of a particular foundation on staad pro that the model was working without any problem. I've then added some rigid links at the bottom of foundation which have been linked to one spring at the center of gravity. Afterwards, the following error has been raised. I've tried to increase the cut-off mode shape as this error might come from this issue. Although, it is apparently unchangeable from the command panel. I could change in in Editor but nothing is changed in the corresponding command (i.e. still cut-off mode shapes equal to 6). Therefore, the error is still there! Could anyone please help me to resolve this problem??
**ERROR- ZERO ON DIAGONAL IN JACOBI ITERATION. ROW 28 OF 30 VALUES 9.035008E-05 -4.569676E-08 SWP/ITER 1 1
**ERROR** A PROBLEM HAS BEEN ENCOUNTERED WHILE SOLVING FOR MODES (J3) TRY ADDING 10 MORE MODES TO THE CUTOFF MODESITERATION= 1 *** ERRORS IN SOLVER ***
Thank you in advance,
Any update on this subject please?
Just replied to another post where the same question was asked. Here is the answer
Jacobi errors in eigensolution would usually be due to modeling issues. Check for any instabilities, disconnected structures, improper connectivity between members etc.
Dear Sye,
I am also facing this issue. I confirmed that there is no modelling issue, since same model with static loading works without any error. I also increased the cut off modes upto 40, but the problem still persist. I am attaching my STAAD file here. It will be really helpful if you could you check & solve the issue.

This problem would not be there if you use the latest STAAD.Pro CONNECT Edition as it uses the advanced math solver which does not have the limitations that the old solver used to have. I assume you are using STAAD.Pro v8i. I would suggest you to upgrade to the STAAD.Pro CONNECT Edition 22.04.00.40. This is highly recommended anyway as starting Jan 1st 2021, the SELECT Server which serves licenses for STAAD.Pro v8i, is going to be retired and STAAD.Pro v8i will not be supported anymore.
If you are stuck and need an immediate solution for now, I would suggest adding the command SET SOLUTION INCORE as shown next
...
INPUT WIDTH 79
SET SOLUTION INCORE
UNIT MMS KG
JOINT COORDINATES
