I am designing a mat slab.
The slab Designer dialogue box allows me to set the top cover and bottom cover. Does the longitudinal or transverse reinforcing have the least cover?
Are layers 1 & 4 always in the longitudinal direction?
Does SFA allow for the reduced capacity of layers 2 & 3 as they have a smaller lever arm (i.e. d2 < d1)?
Would like a quick response as this is my first time using the software and want to know I detail this correctly on a project please.
Once you go to the Moment Envelope generation page, you will see options to set up the Longitudinal Axis. If you choose Along X the longitudinal axis would be along X. The longitudinal reinforcement would also be along X for this case and as mentioned earlier, longitudinal reinforcement would always be the outermost layer
Thank you Sir for reply. I have executed my model in staad foundation .sfa file. Can you please go through it if possible and suggest me if there is any corrections required?
Review is a much more elaborate and thorough process and what we do or have time for should not really be considered as a review. What we do are more like spot checks at the best to find out if there are any red flags or glaring modeling mistakes. If you upload the .sfa file I can do that.
