I am just a learner ... so in a long span rcc beam abt 12m there was no deflection in animation but as I placed a cross beam over long beam at center , major deflection is now showing in animation . Is it due to the long beam splitted in two segments and assigning same deflection value(18mm) of long beam to segmented beams . What is the right way now?
The cross beam should split the main beam into two segments and that is how connectivity is going to be established and the load will transfer from the cross beam to the main beam. The main beam although segmented, would be analyzed as a continuous beam.

Splitted beam is analyzed as a continuous beam unless you apply member releases. There is no separate setting that is required for that.
Why deflection behaviour changes in animation, it shouldn't show deflection in animation for long splitted beam as it is analysed as a continuous beam ..No member release is done . Please chk with a simple frame structure 12 or 13 m long span
