Hi all,
do somebody have an experience with data exchange from Scia PT (current name is Scia Engineer) to Bentley Structural (and back)? One from my customers would like to reuse data from Scia in Bentley products and he has Bentley Structural license already.
Before I will bury myself into testing available format on both sides I'd like to be sure I will not solve something solved already :-)
TIA Jan
Hi, Jan,
You can try to export Scia file to IFC, then import this IFC file to Bentley Structural, then Apply Structural Attributes to these imported Slab/Free/Linear Form, but no experience with Scia, not sure Scia has which domain of IFC, please give a try.

Hi Jan,
I have no experience w/ Scia, but, hopefully there's a text file format that both products support.
I spent some time on their website trying to determine if they export CIS/2 (manufacturing or design model), SDNF or STAAD (.std) files, but, I found nothing.
If the Scia app will write one of these three formats, then you can import the model into Bentley Structural.
