My model consists of beams & columns which are concrete and take gravity loads only, the project is SDC D and the shear walls take all the lateral load. When I run the concrete column analysis I get the following warning: Column section dimensions are not acceptable per ACI 318-14 Sec 18.7.2.
Per the ACI 318-14 code, section 18.7 is for columns of special moment frames. So its unclear why the columns (which are gravity only) are being required to meet a standard they are not part of?
Check the Ram Concrete Column manual section 4.8.4 Provisions for Members not Designated as Part of the Seismic-Force-Resisting System (relates to ACI 318-14 section 18.14.3.3)
