I am looking at using the cantilever pile design option, I am in Australia and realise the software will only design this type of footing to the US code. I would like to do the analysis, get the maximum moment in the pile then design the reinforcing by hand to the Australian Standards. I will still do a design to the US standard to get the solution almost correct.
Under "Soil Selection" there are 7 different clay soil descriptions and 7 different sandy soil descriptions. When selecting different soil descriptions I notice the "properties" don't change. Why are there 7 different soil descriptions, wouldn't you just have 1 clay soil and 1 sandy soil?
I have selected SI units, can I confirm the reo sizes are in mm?
Under moment/rotation I have selected "moment" as I have a free head pile. When I do the design and look at the calculations it tells me head condition "fixed head", why it should be "free head"?
I would attach my file but cannot work out how when posting to the forum.
Hi Sye
This has almost been 1.5 years since I noted the software error and it still is not fixed. Can you advise if Bentley intend to fix this issue or do I need to look at purchasing a competitors product so I have software that works correctly.
After almost 1.5 years of waiting I could hardly be called impatient.
Hi Ray, I have reached out to the product management team and development team for STAAD Foundation Advanced to prioritize fixing the defects you reported. This is being considered with priority. Sincere apologies for the delay and we really appreciate your patience.
