  • I think it would be easier to apply the Wind Load for a group of members instead of using Range options. Applying wind on a group of members is like applying a floor load for a group of members - you need to create a group where load needs to be applied and then assign that load to that group. As an example, I did this for LC3 in the attached model. In order to apply a Wind Load for a created group, you need to use the STAAD Editor and perform this task in the input file, as GUI does not have this capability as of now. So if you create a group of beams named TEST and you want to apply wind load to it, you can use such syntax in the input file:

    WIND LOAD X 1 TYPE 1 MEMB _TEST

    I modified Ranges in LC4 to illustrate that Wind Load can be applied using the Range option. Here you need to provide the coordinates of area where wind loads needs to be applied. Again, applying Wind Load for group of members can be done for Z direction as well.
