I need help for the attached model.

I am doing the FEA on StaadPro and i created the model as attached. However, the problem is that i cannot see any stress distribution on the plate after analysis. Can somebody help me on solving

RE: FEA Analysis for Base Plate

Yes, that was the problem, i connected the walls to the slab and it works right now. I have updated my model but still have same issue, the plate does not have any stress. Unfortunately I couldn't find the reason for this problem.communities.bentley.com/.../2275.FEA.std

RE: FEA Analysis for Base Plate

A value of 3.256e+10 kN/m3 is being used in your model,

RE: FEA Analysis for Base Plate

For subgrade modulus calculation, i have followed Ks=40 x FOS x qa (Reference: Foundation Analysis and Design ( Fifth Edition ) by Joseph E. Is there something that i am missing in that calculation?

RE: FEA Analysis for Base Plate

You have used a very large value of Subgrade Modulus, so the stresses on the plate become very small. Try to use a more realistic value of Subgrade Modulus and the results should become more reasonable.

As a side note, whenever you use tension/compression only springs, you should combine primary load cases as Repeat Loads, not Load Combinations.
