Is there any code limitations regarding welding the gusset plate of a horizontal bracing connection to the beam web directly? (Because RAM does not allow welding the gusset directly to the beam web but it allows it to the beam flanges)
I don't believe this is a code limitation, but just the way Ram Connection is set up. Our horizontal brace gusset type connections are configured to use a bolted clip angle when connecting the gusset to the beam web, and configured to be bolted through the flange when placed at the top edge.
