I was trying to update an old OpenSTAAD excel macro so that it can run on the latest STAAD.Pro CONNECT edition.
While I was trying to extract maximum bending moment member forces I found that the syntax that should've extract max moment comes back with minimum moment instead.
The same goes with min moment that resulted in maximum moment. To better understand this, I've attached something below
This is what I get from the online OpenSTAAD,
I found that the last 4 outputs are, minimum moment, min. moment position, max moment, max moment position. Below is what my syntax looks like
I highlighted the result of max (-73.767kNm) and min moment (170.547 kNm) above. Those two are for MemberNo = 106 and Load Comb = 102.
Instead I found this on the result table where the minimum and maximum moment which is the opposite of what I get from OpenSTAAD.
Can someone explain this to me? Did I misinterpret the maximum and minimum definition?
FYI I'm using STAAD.Pro CONNECT Edition 21.00.02.43
Thanks
Yes. This is an internal list, to the best of my knowledge.
So even with the latest STAAD.Pro CONNECT Edition Update 3 (21.03.00.146) the problem is yet to be addressed?
Where can we see this defect list?
This is a known issue and already reported for the development team as a defect# 971281. It should be addressed in the upcoming versions of STAAD.Pro.
