The model has about 22000 plate elements and about 40 beams. Now to the problem

RE: "ERROR NOT ENOUGH MEMORY FOR SPECTRUM FORCE-6" in STAAD.Pro V8i

Please create a service request for more investigation. We tried with the MEMORY 100 command but the analysis kept shutting down (it took less time for it to crash with the command, something like 30 minutes). The solution; or what we thought to be the solution at least, turned out to be updating from STAAD Series 5 to STAAD Series 6. The model finishes the analysis but now it shows another error: "STAAD.Pro failed to open this file on a previous occassion. Do you want to try a safe recovery? Please note that STAAD.Pro is capable of recovering only input data All post analysis data will be lost" so even though the analysis was performed to completion, we are back to not having results again. Don´t know if this is an isolated incident that just happened to ocurr in that precise moment but anyway, that´s our situation at the moment. (I can´t attach the model file because it´s running right now, but the only change that was made was making the number of modes 900)

RE: "ERROR NOT ENOUGH MEMORY FOR SPECTRUM FORCE-6" in STAAD.Pro V8i

Dear User,

As you say that the file takes ours to run so it will take some time for me to investigate. But there may be 2 possible ways to overcome the situation.

1. You can use Memory command followed by an integer before 'STAAD SPACE" command line. You can get a guideline about Memory value from the below link.

https://communities.bentley.com/products/ram-staad/f/ram-staad-forum/91931/staad-pro-memory-and-disk-space-issues-for-large-models

2. You can use SET NL parameter. But in your case as the number of primary load cases are not too much then this may not be the issue. But you may refer the attached link to know more.

https://communities.bentley.com/products/ram-staad/f/ram-staad-forum/138009/primary-load-case-can-only-be-added-if-set-nl-command-is-used

Please try the first option with MEMORY 100 and let me know.
