Dear Frds,
I have modeled a steel frame and design using EN 1993-1-1:2005.
I have attached the model for your reference i that model correct or need to add any other steel design parameter??
I have attached the design report also in which member length and effective length are same is this correct ???
If wrong then what is correct parameters for steel design???
Plz guide guys.../

Please go through the technical help manual to know the use of different parameters.
Home > Design > D. Design Codes > D5. European Codes > D5.C. European Codes - Steel Design to Eurocode 3 [EN 1993-1-1:2005] > D5.C.6 Design Parameters
STAAD by default uses node to node distance as member length. So if your member is having nodes in between member (practical) ends then your design is not correct. You need to assign Ky, Kz, Ly, Lz etc parameters. Please go through the help manual for more details.
Thank you.../
For Ky,Kz we can give 1
but for Ly and Lz we need to calculated for every member as,,
Ly=member length x K factor ah.../
or
just give Ly=actual member length
The K value depends on support type of the ends. Ly, Lz values are the length of the member between the supports. For any member is staad if you notice any node between the support ends of the member then you need to provide the length between the support ends as Ly or Lz.
Thankyou .../
Do i have give design parameters correct in below model or not???
Mainly i need to know about Ly and Lz values ???
