I am trying to model a simple mat foundation with 1 control region.
After meshing by following instructions, I analyzed it and the modal displacements, stresses and bearing pressure did not look right.
My slab thickness and soil properties are identical in the boundary and control region.
To verify that is was the control region, I deleted it then remeshed the boundary and analyzed. The results looked good without the control region.
Any idea why the control region makes is messing up the analysis?
Can you please let us know the version of the program you are using? Can you also attach the model here?
I am using staad foundation advanced connect edition v8.3.0.20.Admin Bldg FND Copy.sfa
Is this a software issue??
Hi Matthew, Yes, it is due to an error in the program. It was corrected about 6 months ago. Can you please check with the latest build (9.0.0.9)?

Thank you for providing the information I needed. Unfortunately security is more important than being able to do my job in this organization. Our IT contractor is required to review every update before we can install it. We are typically about 1 year behind on updates.
