My staad pro file analysis has been taking too long (up to 24 hours) and still it is in the progress. I define my beam as plate girder by using user table. I attach here with my model and the upt file used. I need advice to resolve this problem. Thanks in advanceStr3 new new.std
Dear User,
You have used a .upt file in this structure and we need that file to run staad file. Also, let us know which version of STAAD.Pro you are using. Please note, if you are using an old version of STAAD.pro then please upgrade to latest Connect edition Version22 and run the file in STAAD.Pro Advanced analysis engine which consists of 64bit solver and capable of analyzing structure more faster than older V8i versions.
Hi, I uploaded the upt file to google drive, here is the link.

I am currently using staad pro v8i ss6.
Same problem I have a G+7 building analysis takes more than 4 hours on ss6 version 90 ( I think this is the latest) and connect edition does not recognise surfaces , the update 5 also does not recognise.
This is very irritating, Official please do something on this
Most likely a long analysis time is required because the surface mesh is very fine. You can control the surface mesh by changing the edge divisions of each surface. Reducing the division would increase the mesh size and decrease the analysis time. Please note that STAAD.Pro V8i is not supported anymore. We do not recommend in using it anymore. Instead, STAAD.Pro CONNECT Edition should be used. You can use plates to model shearwalls in STAAD.Pro CE and then design it in the Advanced Concrete Design workflow (RCDC).
