When Looking at Service Seismic LC 0.6D - 0.7E, how do I know which Load case it is showing. My model was imported from RAM SS which had RAM frame run with all 36-E cases. Also can I model a tension only spring to find the total uplift force to see how many anchors I would need?
The soil bearing results are enveloped for the rule set, or load combination reviewed. In order to see the pressure from a single concurrent load combination including lateral loads, it has to be a single combination. not a "lateral group".
Area springs are always compression-only.
does RAM have point springs that are tension only?
Yes, point and line springs (as well as columns, walls, point supports and line supports) are linear, tension and compression supports.
