HOW TO DESIGN BRACING IN STAAD PRO V8i

Hi all

I am designing a workshop (steel structure) in staad pro

I using a bracing into a column

I already use member specification -> release in the bracing

and i try use "tension only"

but my structure still accept press force and still fail

maybe there is someone who wants to explain the detail, I will be very helpful Slight smile

  • Most of your members are failing due to slenderness check. If you want to pass the members try increasing their size in such a way that their radius of gyration gets increased. By default 200 & 300 are the maximum slenderness limit for compression and tension members. Try to limit them within that value.

    On a different note, if you want to bypass slenderness check you may use MAIN and TMAIN parameter with value 1. Please refer help file for more details.

    I would also like to tell you that try to provide all the design parameters before check code command all together. Also delete extra perform analysis commands.
