Staad Design fail at Column - ram connection

hi, 
 
 For my Steel column, i need to use other column but that fails, can the ram connection for staad pro v8i can help? 
 Like.. if i use ram connection, will my column will pass? 
 can anyone help me?

You can check the same in STAAD only. You can provide top and bottom cover plate when assigning the property as shown below.

Dear User, 
 can you please explain the cause of column failure. Please note, in STAAD we design members depending upon loads, material, properties, support condition, design parameters etc. In RAM CONNECTION we design the end connections of a member. So, a member failing in STAAD can not be analyzed and passed in RAM Connection. Rather you may incorporate the effects of connection through specifications and design parameters to pass the member within staad. If you can upload the file here, it will be helpful for us to guide you more.
