For single angles in compression, it seems RAM Elements either uses AISC E5(b), which is unconservative (planar box unchecked, default), or uses KL/rz, which is too conservative (planar box checked), is there a way to have it apply E5(a), when designing an individual single angle member?
Which AISC Code year or edition does this pertain to?
AISC 360-10, Elements v14. Meant to ask if it’s potentially been addressed in newer versions.
In version 16, I see the output for AISC 360-10 references either E5-2 or E5-4 for the determination of (KL/r) with a small variance depending if the "Conn TSL" option or "Planar Elem." option is selected. So it looks like we do consider subsection E5(a) or E5(b).

Thank you, I'm seeing my issue now. The result of E5-2 was >200 so it correctly defaulted to KL/rz.
