Please feel free to ask your questions or post your comments here on this discussion thread regarding the webinar, "Design of Tilt-Up Concrete Buildings."
If you need to efficiently design tilt-up concrete buildings, RAM Structural System has what you need! Join this webinar to learn how RAM's modeling environment and special tools for tilt walls improve efficiency with a full 3D model as well as improves accuracy in your strength analysis.
Structural engineering expert, Eric Helmueller, will show you how to:

Does in plane shear design, including special seismic requirements from chapter 18 of ACI 318 implemented in the tilt up module? Is this module available as a standalone or do you need to purchase the RSS?
The tilt-up workflow demonstrated has been fit into the existing architecture in RAM Structural System. There is no additional module to be purchased. If you have a license for RAM Structural System, you can use these tilt-up features in v17.00.
Previous versions of RAM Concrete Shear Wall (renamed Concrete Wall in v17) already had many of the 18.10 special wall provisions implemented. Section 18.11, special precast walls, references 18.10, so there were no seismic provisions implemented specifically for tilt-up. If special walls are selected in the Concrete Wall - Criteria - Design Criteria, the 18.10 provisions that are implemented are applied to cast-in-place and tilt-up walls.
Wall piers (18.10.8) have not been implemented, but are a high priority enhancement that we hope to get to in the near future.
Thank you. That answers my question. Much appreciated.
Do you have an estimated time when the wall piers will be implemented?
There are some prerequisite enhancements that must take place that have tentatively been planned for the next 6 months. Plus, ACI 318-16 is on the horizon. I'm hoping we can start working on wall piers in Q3 or Q4 2020.
Thank you for the clarification on the timeline. I was just at an ACI 318-19 seminar all day yesterday where Dr Wight and Trey went over the code changes. For sure shear equations is going to be big change, hooked bar development length...anyways these changes are going to be interesting communicating to clients...as an footings have just gotten deeper with the code changes....If you are planning to implement the ACI 318-19 changes that would be interesting for us to explore the software further.
Thank you
