Hi in RAM Frame there are two different types of frame type OCBF and OCBF Chevron. What is the difference between these? It would be great if you point to the section in the manual which speaks about these and how it would affect or what RAM assumes or ignores when either is selected. Thank you.
A chevron brace is one where the braces intersect at the beam mid-span. AISC 341-10 has special checks for these. Just search the document for "chevron" to find them quickly.

Seth Thank you! But what frame type should I assign for the column and beam? Like in this case? Since I have one bay with chevron and the other with cross bracing.
That's fine. I would call the corner column an OCBF, but it does not really matter for columns.
Thank you!
