I was trying to fix 3 things in the last couple of days. unfortunately, I could not fix all the problems, so I hope to get help ASAP.

the First problem that I had and I could fix is the warning that says " Review shear min density/max

RE: Warnings

I created a MathCAD worksheet (although probably easy enough to do in Excel as well) that checks the max spacing (from tbl 9.7.6.2.2) AND the minimum spacing from 25.7.2.1. The spacing the program gives for the transverse reinforcement falls in this range (24 in < 8 in < 1 in). So I'm not sure what the warning is for. It would seem that MathCAD has all the variables to check itself (except maybe diameter of the aggregate), so maybe that's why it is warning the user to check the tie spacing... Or maybe I'm just misunderstanding it all? It is strange.

RE: Warnings

Hello, I had the same question, however analyzing the message of the warning and the point of the indicated standard, I understand that the program is indicating that it is verified or pay attention to those members that are being designed with reinforcing steel at maximum separation for not having significant requirements for shear. But it does not mean that there is something wrong with the design.

RE: Warnings

Are there any updates regarding the "Review shear min density/max spacing Cl 9.7.6.2.2" warning message when using the ACI 318-2014 code?
First of all, I appreciate your effort. you are right as soon as i used ACI 2011 The last 2 issues as well as the 1st issue were fixed.

As a result, applying the code ACI 2014 is not appropriate since the 1st problem was fixed with ACI-2011. Clearly for the viewers, DO NOT USE ACI 2014 for now because you may get warnings that are not right, and I will try to confirm that by manual calculation to check if the 1st warning exist or not.

Best Regards.

RE: Warnings

Yes the second and third points are related to the ACI 318-14 code implementation in STAAD.Pro. One thing you can do for now is use the ACI 318-11 code and all of the issues you mentioned should be handled. To use the ACI 318-2011, you need to change the command as show below

START CONCRETE DESIGN

CODE ACI 2011

Also you may want to add a LOAD LIST 7 TO 11 command just before the START CONCRETE DESIGN to limit the design to the combinations only

RE: Warnings

Hi
