&lt;p&gt;Two-way slab in critical span region - checking 2 * h spacing limit (per 8.7.2.2).&lt;br /&gt;Checking 8.6.1.1&lt;br /&gt;Ac 797.5 in&amp;sup2;&lt;br /&gt;Reinforcing Ratio (using all reinforcement) 0.002207&lt;br /&gt;Modified Reinforcing Ratio (fy &amp;gt; 60 ksi) 0.002207&lt;br /&gt;Maximum allowed bar spacing 18 inches&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Maximum actual bar spacing 19.94 inches&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;What&amp;#39;s happening is illustrated below:&lt;/p&gt;
