we face a problem while extracting beam section forces results for a beam with torsion property. while the member is defined with torsion property, post extraction the result needs further processing to convert all the torsion moments into equivalent shear & moments and then use in design. is there any way to avoid this torsion moment in the results even though the torsion property is given in member definition.
You can use member release(Mx), if you are sure that there will be no torsion due to modeled member arrangement and applied loading.

I know that the modelled member arrangement and applied loading will cause torsion effect. but i want the torsion moments to get distributed to Mz and Fxin STAAD itself instead of me doing it outside in Excel.
There is no such option that torsion will be converted to equivalent moment and shear. The beam results you are talking about is the outcome of analysis. Conversion of torsion is required for design. So, if you are interested in concrete design I would suggest you to use STAAD Advanced Concrete Design workflow available within STAAD.Pro CE V22, where this will be taken care of automatically during design of the members.
