Local Instability at or near Node

The analysis is being completed with "Some Warnings Found." Those warnings are "Local Instabilities at the circled nodes." Is there a way to delete these joints or stabilize the nodes? Is there a different method you would use to model this "lintel elevation" so I could avoid having nodes at this elevation?

  • You can't easily remove the nodes in a partial level model. If you want the beam-column joint to be pinned, pin the beams, not the tops of the columns. Otherwise the beam and nodes as a unit rotate atop the columns like a log on water. If you pinned the column in torsion, I would also remove that.

Regardless, if it's running the nodal instability correction Ram Frame performs is of little consequence.
