Dear sir,
I designed a base plate which is embedded in the column. and submit to the consultant. But the consultant has some question about software given below.
1.calculation used is for foundation design, the designer should explain why such a design approach is used. (in my case it is a base plate of the beam which is embedded in column .can I do not design by this method?)
2. Transfer of loads by friction is assumed, which should not be the case for beam connection. (how I can ignore friction?)
3. In calculation total bolt tension Tu=234 kN, and single bolt tension is given as 146.1 kN. Also, bolts need to be checked to tension + shear action. (is limcon did not check to combine tension and shear)
4.Unclear how plate bending moment was calculated. (actually beam section is built-up box section I consider ub beam in my calculation with the same height
5.how limcon take value of lever arm 853mm?and plate lever arm?
